Chef Jeff Hicks began his culinary career after completing culinary school at The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology apprenticing in Calgary, Alberta. Upon graduation, Chef Hicks has earned his Red Seal and has gained an immense amount of experience while working in Switzerland, Europe. After experiencing the culinary arts and the European Cuisine, Chef Hicks returned to Canada and continued to pursue his career in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and most recently in Saskatchewan.
Chef Hicks has been involved in Aboriginal cuisine during his tenure at a First Nations owned and operated Conference Centre in Jasper, Alberta. It had given the opportunity to learn about the Sawridge Cree Nation - learn the language, the cuisine, and the lifestyle of the Cree Nations. Working in Jasper, he learned to respect and understand the rich cultural heritage of Canada's First People.
In his current role with the Saskatoon Inn & Conference Centre as Executive Chef, Chef Hicks embraces and continue to promote Indigenous cuisine. Chef Hicks oversees the creative and strategic initiatives of our culinary operations for the hotel, while executing all components flawlessly.
Most recently, Chef Hicks created a new menu for the Garden Café & Lounge, providing selections to suit anyone; ranging from vegan options to utilizing a variety of different meats including elk.
